Well my first reaction to the ending of the book was why didn’t the old man want to keep the fishes head so he could remember how long and hard he had to work, plus to prove to everyone that he was the greatest fishermen of his time so no one could ever doubt that he ever fought and won against such a huge fish in his old age. How much did the fish weigh? Is the biggest question that I have in my mind right now as the story has finished with out telling us how much the fish actually did weight. we know how long the fish is but i think we needed to know how much it weighed for us to know how big the fish was. The second most important question in my mind is that was the old man losing his mind or was he just trying to keep himself from going insane? The last question that i have is, Will the old man continue fishing or he he stop knowing that he has caught the biggest fish that anyone has ever seen in there life or will he look for an even bigger fish to satisfy his need for the hunt? One thing that I think was a suggestion to something more in the story was when he compared himself to Dimaggio.

In this section that we read I have a couple questions: Why does the old man always talk to himself and the fish?, as if he is looking in on the situation, and why does he say he’s ok when actually he is hurting pretty badly. How come the old man tricks the boy and himself about the pain he is feeling and when the boy trys to feed him some food he lies about it and tells him he already ate some rice. My first reaction to this book is that it is starting out kind of slow but still keeps my attention. The young boy seems to respect the old man a lot since he taught him how to fish and do many other things. The author is very good at details in the story. In the future of the story I think that the old man will go longer than 87 days without catching a fish and the young boy will start to loose faith in the old man. An example of a emotive characteristic fromt the story is when The author of the story said “I had forged a lasting bond during our shared epic on K2 in 1992—the closest I’ve ever come to getting killed in the mountains.” it tells me that he had to be very scared at the moment on the mountains. An example of a tanglible characteristic would have to be when the author said the people looked like a bunch of little ants from the distance. I think that a blog is a way to write what you are thinking about and let everyone read what you are talking about. I’ve heard of blogs through Myspace and through some of my friends who post blogs through out the day. Some of the things that I do with a computer is talk to my friends or keep in touch with my family. People are concerned about the safety because of some people can hurt others through internet sites and messages. There are shows that are trying to help people see what is going on in the world. The internet can be dangerous to some people and it also can be a comfort to some people, Some people can get bullied over the internet while others can find friends and family through the internet. I think that the year ahead will be better then the last year because we are more into using computers then just sitting around. |
